The Board of Directors for CEO announce the promotion of James N. Zebrowski, Jr.
The Board of Directors for Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) recently announced the promotion of James N. Zebrowski Jr. to the role of executive director. CEO is a non-profit corporation, headquartered at The University of Tampa, dedicated to creating a world of opportunities for today’s young entrepreneur. CEO brings resources, connections and funding to more than 250 colleges and universities globally as their students launch businesses.
Zebrowski, who previously worked for CEO as managing director, said his role as executive director will be to support CEO’s mission of informing, supporting and inspiring college students to be more entrepreneurial via new venture creation. His immediate projects will include membership development both domestically and internationally, new board member appointments, board committee creation and fundraising.
“CEO’s mission is deeply important to me and our global community,” Zebrowski said. “I am very excited to continue the promise of CEO, that, if there is a student that believes they can be an entrepreneur – we will find a way.”
As managing director, Zebrowski built a headquarters management team, restructured membership for the corporation, planned and executed global conferences and improved CEO financial performance by 200 percent year over year.
Giles Hertz, UT business law and entrepreneurship professor and CEO corporation president, said Zebrowski has demonstrated an irrepressible passion for the success and continuation of the CEO mission. Hertz, previously served as executive director.
CEO was founded in the early seventies by the Kauffman Foundation, Coleman Foundation, Gerald Hills and John Hughes. At that point in time, entrepreneurship education was non-existent and the creation of CEO later helped to bring entrepreneurship to university and college environments by way of student organizations, faculty and programming. In 2016, the CEO headquarters moved to The University of Tampa, where it is located within the Lowth Entrepreneurship Center in the Daly Innovation and Collaboration Building.
Zebrowski received his bachelor’s in management and master’s degree in entrepreneurship from The University of Tampa.
