Purchase, Data Processing and Anti-Discrimination Policies

Purchase Policy

All sales are final.  CEO will not accept exchanges of any kind. There will be no refunds under any circumstances.  No membership cancellations will be processed without notice prior to your billing date.  If you are processing a membership dues payment, and using a credit card, CEO will automatically charge you for any future annual dues. If you do not want to be automatically charged, please contact CEO to pay membership dues via check.

Data Processing Policy

The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Inc. (CEO) takes seriously its obligations to protect personal information relating to member/non-members, partners, donors and related organizations personal information. This policy/documentation specifically covers how CEO processes credit card payments, check payments, personal information such as name, D.O.B, address (personal/professional), e-mail address, telephone number and status of graduation.  This policy also addresses how CEO is notified of a data breach and how we communicate that message to the respective parties.

CEO has two partners that process and store the following personal information.  Novi and Quickbooks Payments collect customer information on the following platform: www.c-e-o.org - the secure domain appears any time Novi is processing personal information, this activates the SSL server on the Novi platform.  Novi data and CEO’s website presence as of Aug 1, 2023 is processed and stored on Amazon Web Servers a highly reputable and encrypted/safe server network.

Quickbooks Payments is integrated into the Novi system as our exclusive credit card and ACH processing partner.  CEO HQ staffers do not handle or process credit card payments outside of PCI compliance.  CEO maintains a PCI compliance certificate record on-file at the HQ office.  On rare occasion, CEO staffers do handle telephone payments in which a customer may contact the headquarter office and remit payment via telephone utilizing a credit card or ACH transfer. In this process, CEO staffers directly type the credit card information into the payment screen of the member and we process the transaction – at which time, Quickbooks Payments receives the credit card info automatically and provides Novi with an authorization.

CEO does not store membership information outside of Novi – we do, however, store lists containing e-mail address, first name and last name of members in our Citrix Sharefile system.  We utilize one account for Citrix Sharefile installed on CEO workstations – every CEO Staffer has an encrypted log-in, individually specific.

CEO does not share any personal information with our partners/customers, however, information that is placed in professional information sections on the www.c-e-o.org website can be access via other members in the online directory.  This feature can be disabled at any time by accessing a membership account and selecting manage preferences.

Novi has an API integration with Mailchimp which immediately uploads first name, last name, and e-mail address information to MailChimp. The API integration detects previously “unsubscribed” users and does not update an unsubscribed record. By way of registering on the www.c-e-o.org platform, users are giving us permission to send our monthly newsletter and other promotions from CEO HQ.  Members can adjust preferences in the Novi platform (www.c-e-o.org).

In the event of a data breach in relation to www.c-e-o.org, (the Novi platform or the Quickbooks Payments platforms) Novi or Quickbooks would inform CEO of the data breach.  At that time, we would evaluate the breach information and notify the members prompt and appropriately.  CEO will also notify members in the event of a failed breach.  Regarding a breach of data in our office, CEO will conduct an internal investigation and appropriately mitigate the breach.  CEO maintains a cybersecurity insurance policy to mitigate any loss due to a data breach.

Anti-Discrimination Statement

The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization is committed to providing a work and educational environment that is free from unlawful harassment and discrimination. The Organization maintains this strict anti-discrimination statement prohibiting any kind of harassment or discrimination on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, military or veteran status, marital status, genetic information or any other protected characteristic. Likewise, ethnic, religious, age-related, disability, gender or sexual orientation considerations will not be used as the basis for decisions affecting any student, faculty member or employee.
